Less than 24 hours after the announcement on the Sea Dream 1 had a case onboard there are now calls for the CDC to put the no sail order back in place and stop trying to open cruising back up. #cruiseshipnews #cruisingwithdon #donsfamilyvacations #royalcaribbean

2 bloggers from U.K. are on the Sea Dream. Today they have posted an update on their FB page 13/11/20. Quote from that post “The captain is confident that all negative passengers can disembark tomorrow and return home”, also the captain is hoping to get them some on deck time once the infected people have been removed from the ship. Surely the ones who are negative at the moment shouldn’t be allowed to leave the ship either, in the case of the people from the U.K. your talking of a 9hr flight and any other transport to complete the journey home! What more could go wrong unbelievable!

Cruise-wise - any chance of a mini-cruise to Ireland on the car ferry (either from Fishguard, Holyhead or Pembroke Dock)? Though in the case of Pembroke Dock this is a massive trek from the railway station (I have walked it but didn't measure it and it seemed far, and it seems to be about a mile.)

I am glad these senators are standing up. I am tired and want to get cruising, but I work on the frontline as a medic. I have seen this close up. I have watched a colleague who was also a friend die without their loved ones present, ironically the rules that make no sense meant I could not go to the funeral. I get this is you're business Don and I do feel for you and of course those working on the ships. But this wishy washy way of starting/stopping was never going to work. Had everyone been strict things might have been better, but they were not and people innocent in all of this like you and others have been affected.
Also even if they do say people must wear masks, in places where this happens it is rarely enforced. At least we have some in gov more concerned about lives over money. People really have no clue. When a healthy 13 year old dies on a shift, it brings it home. The gov should support those affected better and those UV lamps I saw on the ship where such a gimmick in the way they were used. Waste of money there. What a horrible situation for everyone :(

I’ll just say “2020” has been an unexpected kind of year. However, I choose to remain positive because the truth of matter is, we don’t know what “2021” is going to be like for people/ families, good changes or bad.

Don, I am confused. It is being reported that they all passengers and crew did infact have negative tests back before boarding and they think transmission happened the day before or day of embarkation. It is also reported that only one party has tested positive and that there are 8 guests in that party, and that all crew have since tested negative. I realize the updates are flowing fast. Just confusing with how fast.
