I think I got it. 😭😆👏🥳 I was getting frustrated trying to understand the difference between stipple & whip shading. I had to go back & forth between the videos a few times. Stipple pepper pendulum slower voltage. Whip out.. quick whip.. higher voltage.. like an airplane taking off & tapering out a line. 🛫 Thank you, Brandon. 😊💚

*I'm looking up shadow placement for drawing, watercolors, etc. Things like direction, length, width, shape, how perfect does it need to be, when is better if it's not perfect, etc. I like to learn how things are done in different styles of art & it would be interesting to hear it from the perspective of a tattoo artist. Future video maybe? 🙂

That pendulum. "technique" will make different depth of the tattoo, which will make a tattoo that fades and changes shape over time.

The needle should be as vertical as possible towards the skin at all times.
