Getting sick in College

I'm already starting to feel sick as I sit in my dorm. This was timed just right.

My freshman year was not fun. Came down with mono two weeks before finals and was basically conscious to go to class and study and then sleep for the other 16 hours.

I've had health issues all throughout college (and even now in grad school) It's because of understanding and supportive professors I've been able to get through it

Caught strep throat six times within the same academic year

the first time I got sick at college I got COVID and ended up with long COVID. Not only did it last the rest of the semester, it lasted the rest of my life

Got covid during freshman orientation 3 days before the year officially started. Got to start my first physics lecture on zoom. Let's hope I test negative tomorrow

First time I got sick in college was before Covid was declared a pandemic, most hospitals weren’t disclosing that it was so prevalent yet. Thought I had pneumonia, couldn’t breathe, was shoved into a tiny room with a curtain, denied water as all the nurses wore masks and shooed me away. Totally crazy!

I remember being sick my first semester and having to go buy teabags and honey-- then not using it because I didn't like microwaved tea lol

So true, got sick first semester freshman year and it came with an ear infection as well. I had a hard time hearing for literally half the semester.

I had sepsis.

I once took a final exam in one of the hardest classes of my major while sick :( rescheduling is so dang difficult, it's practically impossible so i just sucked it up, wore a mask and took dayquil

When I got sick, I had no energy to do anything. Skipped every class. Stayed in ny dorm. And I didn't even have the energy to get food from the good dining hall, so I just ordered take out large pizzas from the dining hall next to my dorm and ate the whole pizza throughout the day.

The most ironic thing is I didn’t get sick from a frat but sick from my study partner

Lol this was my high school experience, I've been told that I can take "mental health days" and "take care of myself" in college. It's been weird.
