Addressing vice chancellors of universities virtually, Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday said, “If vaccine demand is more than supply, it creates problems. Instead of 1, let 10 more companies be given license for vaccine manufacture. Let them supply in the country and later if there's surplus, they may export. It can be done in 15-20 days.”

Such obvious solutions should have been thought in 2020.
No point in saying it can be done in 15-20 days now.

He is the only who has the capability to run a govt department at this moment in BJP.
Seriously, what's good are we getting from Covaxin? It's rare than diamond? Covaxin's formula should be nationalised immediately and be given to other producers with a royalty to Bharath biotech. Right now covaxin is irrelevant. It's production is so meager that I don't feel comfortable taking it cz I don't onow if I am gonna get the 2nd dose or not.

If licensing comes at a cost Central Govt should subsidise it!

No one is listening to statement he made after the conference..

Y'day while participating at the conference, I had made a suggestion to ramp up vaccine production. I was unaware that before my speech Minister for Chemical & Fertilizers Mansukh Mandaviya had explained govt’s efforts to ramp up vaccine production
After conference, he also informed me that, GoI is already facilitating vaccine manufacturing by 12 different plants/companies and rapid ramp up of production is expected in near future as a result of these efforts.
I was unaware that his ministry has started these efforts before I had given suggestion yesterday. I am glad and congratulate he and his team for this timely intervention in the right direction. I feel important to put this on record: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari

Says a lot for the state of the Nation-Union Minister for Transport and Higjways conducts a meeting like this one 15 months into a pandemic, while the Minister for Health is conspicuous by his silence and absence, the PM is patronizingly addressing other CMs and top bureaucrats on their approach, whilst focusing on his own Image Management excercise...

If this is a cartoon movie, it should be edited to show a light bulb suddenly glowing in the head. Hopefully, the next five years, someone will figure out that we have a shortage of raw materials too that we don't produce but import from China and America.
