Hi Gwenna sorry I missed this. I love your videos. I've never heard of the magic circle and have been crocheting for 35 years. Go easy on yourself. You will get this.

Yay! I loved this. I Don't have the ticky toks so this was my first time and your first yt live. I love it and am surpassed at the amount of inappropriate stuff in the chat. I'm uber impressed (and eager to get to your level) with your ability to navigate both spoken and unspoken boundaries, consequences and staying in your integrity with kindness and self confidence. I aspire to be like that one day. I just lose my words when thing get anywhere near uncomfortable in those lines inappropriate or boundary crossing ways. Your delivery of all of it, including the questions you did answer and the comments you engaged with the most, was very commendable.

Plus I learned a lot about the real gems in the answers. I'm not a country fan either, and I love that you're learning the things that you dabbled in. I taught myself crochet before the internet existed to keep my teenage self busy in the long burning boring winter when my films relocated to the middle of nowhere right after I graduated a semester early and I had no friends and just a few supplies and some "came with the new (old) house" doilies and such. The magic ring wasn't something I found out about til almost two decades later when my daughter wanted to learn and I had the internet to help me teach. Now she knows how to do amigurumi she makes some pretty cool stuffies very often veering off pattern to customize what she didn't like.

I think this is gonna be you one day. You got this and you're such a highly talented and skill building person.
Big love from TN. ❤️🥰🤗

I enjoyed Abby being part of the content, and I completely support her making her own decision about wanting to step away. Neither of you owe us anything.

The chaos lunches and the toxic mug that leaks continue to bring me great joy.
I hope she got net enjoyment/satisfaction out of the experience, and I wish her well.

My sister and I learned how to crochet from my grandmother, but my mum had zero interest in learning because she thought it was too "old fashioned." I found that hilarious😂😂😂😂

Glad to know this circle isn't just confusing for me lol. You help me so much just giving a positive way to smile at some of life's harsh jokes. Thank you so much ❤

I make the magic circle by looping the thread/yarn toward me around my thumb (instead of two fingers), it just works easier for me. Hope this helps. Loving this journey, sis. ❤

The excitement I got from your answer about the tallies!! April 23rd 2013 — when I was in my first semester of college — I covered my left arm & face in tallies. Every time someone asked me about them, I'd look at my arm, look at or past them "in horror, " and add another somewhere 😂 I did it again the following year (though started with way less marks).

Mikey from Crochet crowd is the best person I learned from how to crochet

Props to you, all those lovely abbreviations are no joke. I still look up how to do various stitches

I have been crocheting for over 6 years and I still can't consistently get the hang of a magic loop. I have been using the chain 3 and slip stitch together move this whole time.
Even better: I've taught my little sister to crochet, even made her a pattern for her birthday last year and she got the magic ring down like a champ.
Somehow it just evades me every time so I just use another work around

That's exactly right. It makes a world of difference in making granny squares.

Do you have a tattoo of the Enterprise being chased by a romulan warbird? Or is it a Bird of Prey?! That’s so cool! Love your videos!

I learned the magic circle from a book w/ pics and I got it after a good handful of tries. You make an X and use the not-tail end to lock the X tight 🤷‍♀️ somehow the logic of it made sense after a bit. I’m still super slow in stitching tho

I knit and crochet, and still can't wrap my brain around magic rings. I also need to finish several projects that I started years ago and are just cluttering up my office/craft room.

Last year on Halloween our local philharmonic orchestra did a play-along performance of Hocus Pocus and it was the coolest thing ever and I wish they would do it every year because it was the best Halloween ever.
(Additional context: we live in New Zealand so Halloween isn't The Most here but there are a couple neighbourhoods that get into trick-or-treating, I just have no interest in it for my kid)
