What a great tune with such amazing insight! The little ones are always watching so we have to make sure we are on point with our own actions! What should we check out next?

Loved this song when I first hear it and still do. The problem is those cute little kids grow up to be teenagers and that's when they start turning against you, they'll say things like I hate you, I hate this family and hate all of you and it can and does get worse than that sometimes, I know cause I've been there and done that. during their young adult years, they have no time for you, and it seems as though they've forgotten about you and all the good times you had together when they were young. It's not till they're in their older adult years that they start to come around and realize that mom and dad aren't going to be around much longer and sometimes by then it's too late, it's sad but true. I think he needs to write a follow up song to this one possibly called "What Happened to My Little Buckaroo" or something to that effect.

The first time I heard saw this video, was only a couple of weeks after the day my middle daughter's little girl (who was about two...with a very large vocabulary...most people thought she was at least four), had been sent back to the master bedroom where David was still asleep (he worked nights) to, "Go wake up Grandpa, please. He has a dental appointment in a couple of hours." Now, I had been working on David to clean up the few words that he was still occasionally using, that the grandkids would tend to pick up, because, "...Grandpa says that all the time!"

About five minutes later, she returned to the living room, where her mom and I were sitting and chatting, and burst out cheerfully, "Grandpa says, 'Oh, sh__! I forgot!" Jackie and I looked at each other and cracked up, but BOTH of the other entities got (mild) speeches later on.

When this video came out, and I shared it with him that same day, he GOT it! Still...it took a few years after that, to finally get the remainder of those types of words erased from his vocabulary, because he had grown up with his mother (a believer, but widowed and very tough) using them. He still has times where (as he puts it) his "bucket gets tipped, " but generally speaking (especially since we now LIVE with our youngest daughter and her husband, and their eight children) he has basically locked up all of those words and learned more appropriate ways to deal with situations. 😀

THANK YOU VERY MUCH, Steven, for these two reactions. I do hope you've had the time to take a quick watch of the two Josh Turner (VEVO) videos for which I had at first intended to request reactions. If you get a chance to just listen and enjoy, without reacting, both Trace Adkins (I'd suggest "You're Gonna Miss This") and Blake Shelton (I'd suggest "Some Beach") are really good country singers (again, unfortunately, with all VEVO videos).

Rodney Atkins has another great song called "Cleaning This Gun". It's cute and funny, not what you might think with the title! It's nice to see someone who isn't a country fan come to appreciate this genre of music. It's real. Great reaction.

"Walk a Little Straighter" is another song along the lines of this one..and unfortunately I can relate to that song much more than this one.

If you ever have to tell your child, "Do as I say, not as I do", it's time to look inward and make the changes you need to make. Just sayin.
