That last minute and a half is some of the heaviest lifting an orchestral tuba player gets to do.

Je trouve que cette composition musicale (que j'adore !!) convient très bien à la direction énergique et passionnée du chef d'orchestre ! Bravo !

Played this at both high schools I attended and at least one of the two community orchestras I played with.

We played this in 2022 and they changed the name in the program to "slavic sailors dance" to not 'offend' anyone because of the current social climate. It really bothered me because that they tried to virtue signal by changing the name of a great composition. Gliere rolled in his grave.

That's just Яблочко. You can find a full Russian ballet dancing to it on here if you dig around

That bass clarinetist is really good at projecting, I could actually hear it which is very uncomon.

Thank you for this music!.Never heard it before! I´m a longstanding friend of Russia since I visited the country in 1970 an understood their immense sufferings in WWll which saved us all from the nazis. Now they are doing it again..

1:53 - 2:04 sounds like the background music for a fan made One Piece video

It's sad to see such an amazing country die off so quickly. Vlad has a broken calculator. As a child we gladly played this piece as an inspiration. Today it brings tears to my eyes. NATO will devour Russia unless they join and cease the sad fire of the old world.

Hope those Russian Sailors enjoy their dances aboard Black Sea Warships. They better enjoy it while it lasts, til Ukrainian Anti-ship Missiles blow them outta the water!!!

I’ve always loved this piece of music. It made taking the alto/bass clarinet home not such a chore.
