KOSPI closes at record high at 2372.62

코스피 장중 사상 최고치 돌파…2,372.62

Korea's benchmark stock index, the KOSPI, closed at a record high on Friday... as positive news on the country's economy helped lead a buying spree.
The local bourse closed at about 2-thousand-3-hundred-72-and-a-half, up nearly 1-point-2 percent.
Samsung Electronics added 2-point-8 percent... while SK Hynix gained 1-point-2 percent.
The news of the day was that Korea's GDP grew far more than expected in the first quarter -- that plus an overnight rally in the U.S. market.
