What's so hard about cutting $2 trillion from the budget? What was the budget before the couf excuses for expanding it to the current ridiculous size? I think $2 trillion is a low-ball estimate. Weed out superfluous spending, require line-by-line justification for defense spending and we could probably cut spending in half while doing a better job of taking care of veterans and other suffering Americans. There would still be enough left over to start paying down our national debt. We have been conditioned to accept numbers that most people don't even understand. Try counting from 1 to 2, 000, 000, 000, 000. (That's 2 trillion.) Let me know when you get there. (Spoiler alert: you won't live long enough to get there.)
