To find out, Neil pitted his thoroughbred Pole Stamina 180, complete with SRAM AXS drivetrain and Trickstuff Direttissima brakes, against his bargain Facebook Marketplace find: the mighty Voodoo Hoodoo. How do the bikes compare? The results may surprise you!

This is clearly one of the most well montage'd GMBN video ever.

This was so well edited and I wasn’t paying attention I didn’t realize they were the same person until the last second 🤣

"Hardtails aren't up to downhill". Blake out here saying "hold my beer"

Things like this are great for encouraging newbies. It can be daunting running a £300 second-hand bike when everyone around you has a £3000+ brand new DH rig.

you should do a high end hardtail vs a cheap full sus

It's nice to see this channel championing cheap mtb riding for a change. Usually they just put out videos trying to relate to all skill levels whilst wearing and riding high end kit as if everyone should have it.

Please compare two bikes from the same category.

For example:
Cheap Hardtail vs High End Hardtail

Would be really interesting :)

Something over 10x the price just to save what 10 seconds on the downhill and have some random guy to ponder stealing the bike? Yeah we all know who won here.

Next vid: Neil and Neil vs Blake and Blake.

I highly anticipate this.

So many people get hung up on pricing of bikes and yeah it can be crazy expensive, but just ride what you can afford and you’ll still have fun and get fitter. Even if you never stop dreaming about an upgrade 😄

Counter argument:
The entry level bike here climbs faster and descends longer for each climb.

I'm embarrassed about how funny I found that Deore/Dior joke. Well played.

Sometimes I forget that they are the same person

I started on a 100mm hard tail and I rode it for 3 years. It taught me a lot of skills that I could transfer to my new 160 full suspension bike. I think hard tails and full sus bikes are so amazing. It doesn't matter what you have. Just go out and ride.

Yes! Thank you for showing that you don't need to break the band to get a good bike.

I have a '99 Specialized FSR XC, silver, completely stock. The lines are so clean, it's an amazing looking bike. It never leaves my side when I'm out and has always been kept inside my room. I raced it in a Duathlon 3 years ago. I had tons of people ask me what it was and if it was new. It was almost 20 years old at that point but it's in mint condition. The aesthetics, the beauty of the design along with fitness for purpose shouldn't be underestimated when you are purchasing a bike.✨

I started on the voodoo hoodoo. Had it for 3 weeks during lockdown to get a feel for mtb, I loved it and now have a whyte T-130 not quite the pole but still a great bike. Been hitting the trails at rogate bike park since getting it. 🤙🏻

So basically you can ride your whole life with "disposable bikes" and still not spend as much. Lol.
