Jaylen Mbakwe is one of the top prospects in the 2024 College Football Recruiting Class. He signed with the Alabama Crimson Tide. He is listed as a cornerback by most of the recruiting sites. 247Sports has him listed as an ATH. He was highly ranked by 247Sports, Rivals, ON3, and ESPN.

He got that 5th star on rivals finally. After the All American Army practices there was no doubt in their mind he could play CB. ESPN doesn’t just have him as the #2 CB but the #2 overall recruit. He’ll be play CB and more than likely will have punt return duties. I think if we can pick up another CB come spring than he’ll def get punt return duties, as we’re plenty talented at CB but we’re kinda thin and rlly young in the secondary. Rtr!

Can you imagine him, Isaiah bond and Ryan Williams as bama’s receiver core? I wanted him on offense but hopefully it works out on the defensive side of the ball. Alabama has other really impressive receivers coming in also.

His senior accomplishments are extremely impressive considering he isn't a real QB, just the best dude on his team so he was played at QB. His team, Clay-Chalkville went undefeated and won the 6A State Championship in Alabama. Big time football. His squad defeated the mighty Saraland HS (defending champs who were undefeated and home to 5* mega-star WR Ryan Williams and Texas QB commit KJ Lacey) as well as a road win at Thompson HS, the FOUR TIME defending 7A state champs in a game televised on ESPN. He'll play CB at Bama and also won fastest man at the Under Armour AA game edging out fellow Bama commit, the aforementioned WR Ryan Williams.
