This is one of if not your best coral care videos. Very informative. Interesting to learn about the collection areas for the aussie ones. Over the years I've never had one last long term. A long time ago I had a black and yellow worm inside the head of a gold torch.

Thanks so much for this video. Just picked up a 2 head green Aussie torch splitting into 4 heads for $20. Saw it and just bought it lol now I'm doing the research.

My new Aussie gold torch is a wall variety. I had another example several years ago that was a gold branching torch so I was fairly surprised myself when this torch came in in the wall form. Exacty same coloration and polyp form as my previous one too...😊

Great info, my torches are like anemones on sticks, i feed them every 5 days or so and they literally stuff the mysis or brine shrimp into their mouths

Hi there, you should try the torch from 5:20 in a brackish freshwater aquarium..with fresh water fish but always with brackish water

So glad I watched this - especially the details on the gold torch. I’ve had mine for about 4 months now and it’s doing really well - maybe because I stir up/fluff my sand bed several times a week? From what you said, this might be giving it a bit of the turbid water that it benefits from... The bleaching thing in response to too much light is so true - I had a purple and gold on the sandbed slightly off-axis but it started dumping zooxanthellae. I moved it higher up (better chaotic flow), more sideways, and closer to the back, and it’s now showing great signs of recovery. I think torches exemplify what attracts me to the hobby - challenging but not impossible, and very rewarding when things go well. 😁

I think the more rare coral is worth growing and propagating for a more adapted coral to the home aquarium. As hobbiest we should understand that it would require a premium price.
