I own the Katana 50 mk2, and I have to say I am very impressed. I've always been a tube amp guy (Vox AC30 is still my main amp); but this Katana has me rooting for modeling amps.

Brought home the 100W today, I hate combo amps but wanted something to practice with. I can see this going much further. I can also just run my iPad with the Amplitube All-In bundle and have all of their models. when I want do not want to fire up the analog rigs or the Helix in the studio it's a done deal. Bonus: freaked out my pug with some delays on the clean channel. Already paid itself off.

I barely had my Katana Artist a full year yet. (Which I love.) I'm sure an Artist MkII w/a Waza speaker is coming too. Oh, well let me go over to Anderton's and watch the Captain and Pete demo it properly.

The slow motion jump off of something hidden behind the amp to make it look like he jumped off of the amp was a nice touch. Lol. I've never played or seen a Boss amp. I bet they are pretty good. If I see one in the wild, i am going to have to try it.

Hey Boss guys, can we please have an effect that works like Digitech The Drop in the next update please? I tried everything (Octave, Heavy Octave, Pedal Bend -2, Pitch shift that one sounds really weird) I don't want to mess up with a floyd rose for a semitone lower tuning or a full step lower just for a few songs, this amp can do so much, it should be able to do this simple task too. thank you, best regards

I have a Katana 100 Mk2 head and 212 cabinet. I have been using Boss Tone Studio since I got the thing a few months back but I recently started using FX Floorboard. I definitely like FX FB better than BTS in one respect... I can now put the effects loop send/return anywhere I want it, along with any of the other onboard effects. So what I've done is I put the amp EQ in front of everything, then disabled it. Then comes the effects loop S/R, then all the internal effects. So what this allows me to do it plug my guitar into my pedal board and the pedal board into Katana, after the onboard preamp/EQ but before the onboard effects. My pedal board consists of a six band graphic EQ, a few different preamp pedals, and the Katana GA-FC foot switch controller. So all of my tone is created by the pedal board cuz to be perfectly honest I'm not a huge fan of the Katana's preamp/amp selection. But then I can use all of the onboard effects internal to the Katana, and obviously the power amp. I was never able to do this with Boss Tone Studio. I'm still experimenting with this setup but so far I think it will work out.
But I do have a couple issues...
- I tried putting the onboard noise suppressor in my effects chain using FX Floorboard. For some reason, I cannot get any signal through it no matter where I set the controls, so I had to remove it from the chain.
- Each effects section of the Katana (Mod, FX, Delay, etc.) has three available slots that you can program different effects into. Using the Katana foot switch controller, you can turn each section of the effects chain on and off. But I am wondering if there is a way that the three individual effects in each section can somehow be selected using the foot switch and without having to find the tiny button on the Katana to select green, yellow or red.
- The Katana has some pretty cool effects internally. So far I have no problem using them instead of a separate pedal. But the one thing it is missing is a looper. Given the nature of the Katana and the fact that it emulates so many of Boss's own great effects pedal, this actually surprises me. Boss makes a great little looper pedal, the RC-5. Why isn't that in there somewhere? I was hoping that since FX Floorboard can do some things with the signal chain that BTS can't do, maybe there was a way that additional effects could be added to it somehow.
- I don't suppose I could trade my almost new Mk2 100 watt head in for an upgrade to the Gen 3...?

What a super cool amp guys, Waiting the mk3, i wish you can add for it a looper, tuner and tone studio app for iphone to control it from far and more than 2 channel choice for the 50watt version and the choice to use an expression pedal with the fs-6 in the same time😀👌🏻

Great guitar playing and excellent marketing. BTW, this is filtered sound and we all know that when you buy this and bring home it won’t sound like the one we just heard in the clip. Anyway, I have to test it out if I can find it in stores before commenting on it’s real sound and features. Great job!
