If anyone doesn’t understand, there is no give way marking for that lane so you don’t need to give way or stop, hence why the driver behind was beeping his horn as it was unexpected for him

I passed my test around 8 months ago, I can’t tell you enough how much people honking set me back, for a few lessons after I’d be a really nervous driver and made even more mistakes. I’d think about it and replay it in my head for days… it really gets to you when you’re trying so hard. Please be patient with learner drivers… we all make mistakes.

We were all learners once. The best bit of advice I got from my instructor was " I'm only here to get you through your test, you learn to drive once you pass"

If I see a learner car I keep my distance so I don't pressure them and am patient with them as they are learning. I expect to see mistakes. That's how they learn

To be fair guys a honk isn’t always negative it’s a safety feature designed to contact others on the road attention and it did jus that and he realized what he did wrong

We have all seen far worse mistakes on Dash Cam video channels. At least he drove with caution and made sure he was comfortable before proceeding. If that's the worst mistake he makes in his driving career he'd be doing very well.

Changed lanes to go past a learner who did an epic hill start at a set of lights and saluted them. I think it made their day 😂

When following a learner always expect the unexpected no need for the horn the instructor will sort that mistake out

Beeps also let the learner know that they’re coming through. Not everyone is aggressive

The on the road test was hard for me because I get anxiety. I’d go out with my family and friends to practice, do fine, and then on the test I’d make stupid mistakes. It doesn’t help that often the test graders are super antisocial and do nothing to lighten the mood.

Honestly I will agree as honking will do the opposite. Most of time learners won’t react too well under pressure. I would just keep distance and leave them alone
