As this is one of my favorite songs by the Womacks, I spoke to my friend Friendly Womack about it. He remembered the session and shared a few things about it with me. First, Cecil was playing bass as Harry had passed on at this stage. Also, Cecil was also playing guitar on this song as well, he played on all the songs that were produced by Mary Wells and himself (The WelWom) publishing company. Finally, Curtis Womack was singing tenor since Harry was also the groups tenor voice. He states Curtis song tenor on alls songs after Harry's death. No Bobby was not the guitarist, Cecil plays some solid stuff on this and other songs, many are not aware of this.

Bobby Womack was married to Sam Cooke`s widow. He was a guest on my radio show a couple of times many years ago.

We very aware Mary Wells wasn't wealthy when passing. But as co-writer of this classic her estate doesn't receive royalties. She sold her recording rights to Motown in the sixties truly bad advice.

M.Womack is credited. She was married to him.
