AIST Describes 3D Human Factors Experiments

Research Hiroyasu Ujike of the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) in Tsukuba, Japan, hosted a visit by Insight Media in October 2012. In this video, Dr. Ujike describes the 3D human factor experiments they have been conducting to evaluate the effects of various difference in the left and right eye images of a stereo pair on the human observer. In their experiments, the show a number of stimuli over a 10 minute period, with 10 minute rest periods. Observers are asked to rate how they feel while also monitoring EKG and blood oxygen for other forms of discomfort during the viewing.
