Zverev has HUGE respect for 'legend' Alcaraz 🤝

Team Europe's Alexander Zverev shows his respect to teammate Carlos Alcaraz before their doubles match against Taylor Fritz and Ben Shelton before Laver Cup Berlin 2024.

Welcome to the official Laver Cup YouTube channel. The event takes place every year, the second week after the US Open and the location rotates between Europe and the rest of the world cities. The seventh edition of Laver Cup will be held in Berlin’s Uber Arena from September 20-22, 2024. Team World are the reigning champions after defeating Team Europe for a second time in a row, in Vancouver. Each team is comprised of six players and led by a team captain, who is a legend of the sport. The captain of Team Europe is Bjorn Borg and the captain of Team World is John McEnroe. Three of the six players qualify based on their ATP singles ranking as of the Monday following the French Open. Three are “captain’s picks”, announced by the start of the US Open. Each match win is worth one point on Friday, two points on Saturday and three points on Sunday. The first team to reach 13 points out of a total 24 points available wins Laver Cup. If the points are tied at 12:12 at the end of all matches, a fifth match (Decider) on Sunday is played to determine the winner.

Fantastic words from Zverev here! Seems like a great guy. Alcaraz is definitely already a legend. 4 grand slams which already surpasses Murray and Wawrinka. Not to mention, 2 of those grand slams are by defeating GOAT Djokovic in two Wimbledon Finals. Hope Zverev gets at least 1 grand slam, Alcaraz will likely win many more.

Zverev shows class! People may argue that he has had his flaws with sportsmanship at the net but I would certainly not reduce his character to these moments. I hope he will reward himself with a GS next year for his improvements and performances over the last couple of years.
