Advaita Academy celebrated Shankara Jayanti 2021 by organizing the 2nd Edition of Global Festival of Oneness, from May 17 to June 16th. As part of the festival we featured talks by around 60 Scholars, Sages, and Seekers to share about Shankara’s life, works and influence across multiple dimensions that include Philosophy, Oneness, Leadership and more.
June 11th, Evening session : Shri Jonas Masetti spoke on the topic "How to teach Advaita Vedanta outside India". He mentioned that in westren society emotions play a major role and by connecting Vedanta with emotions and making others realise that one does not need the help of mind to be perfect but realising the true nature will lead us to liberation opened the doors of Vedanta outside India.
Jonas Masetti “Vishvanatha” is a vedanta acharya and a disciple of Sri Swami Dayananda Saraswati. He teaches Vedanta, Sanskrit, mantras and Vedic culture mainly in Brazil, where he is based. His accomplishments with his vedanta teachings in Brazil were acknowledged by the Indian Government through Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi recognizing professor Jonas as an ambassador of the Vedic culture who made the study of vedanta and of the Gita popular in Brazil, reaching the mark of 150,000 students in 7 years of work.
