My Opinion on The Game Changers Film

In this video, I'm going to talk about keto and veganism. I'm also going to give you my opinion on "The Game Changers" movie.

My viewpoint is, if you want to go vegan, you should do it. I have no problem with that. The only challenge I see is if you do it unhealthily.

My ultimate goal is to get people to eat real food. The problem is defining what real food means. Essentially, as long as you're getting your nutrients and your fuel—you're eating food.

It can be difficult to get all of your nutrients being vegan. Nutrients like:

• Zinc, iron, calcium
• DHA
• B12
• Vitamin D

As long as you're getting all of your nutrients and your getting high-quality protein, you can be a vegan and be perfectly healthy.

If you're trying to lose weight, you have insulin resistance, you're prediabetic, or you're diabetic, it can be more difficult to be a vegan.

Dirty keto - doesn't emphasize vegetables
Healthy keto and intermittent fasting - emphasizes vegetables (more vegetables than many vegan diet plans)

There are both unhealthy versions of keto and unhealthy versions of veganism. The bottom line is to make sure you're getting all of your nutrients.

If you're pregnant or breast-feeding, I highly recommend not being a vegan because of the chance of having deficiencies that could be a big problem in the development of the child.

In "The Game Changers," they're talking about the dangers of eating animal products. I would like to see a study that shows any negative effects from consuming grass-fed grass-finished organic meats or organic eggs. There are none.

When we recommend healthy keto, we're recommending high-quality ingredients. Some studies vegans quote are done with processed foods and are based on questioners.

If you have something along the lines of gut inflammation, celiac disease, or irritable bowel syndrome, I do not recommend a lot of vegetables or veganism. I recommend you be a carnivore for 2-3 months, then slowly add vegetables to the diet.

Literally watched this last night and thought to myself, “I wonder what Dr. Berg would say about this?!” Thanks for clarifying everything here!

I’ve done healthy keto with grass fed beef and raised my own organic chickens for eggs. I had wicked inflammation in my knees. Went whole food plant based and I’ve got no inflammation and no pain whatsoever. I’ve been plant based for over 6 months and I’m never going back to meats or animal products.

Yes I do take a B12 supplement once every 3 days and D now that it is winter. I am getting more than enough of my other nutrients.

Only Dr. Berg can peacefully share his two cents with no animosity towards either side!

There are some studies where cooked vegetables are a lot more healthier and more beneficial then to raw vegetables because cooking vegetables break down the density of those vegetables which make it a lot easier to digest and absorb the nutrients.

Arnold and James Cameron are not good people. James Cameron used to promote cigarettes and Arnold did tons of shady things as governor, including letting a knife-murderer out of prison on his last day in office, just because he was the son of a political friend.

I went vegan back a couple months before the documentary came out. What I noticed was I either felt amazing or felt like garbage and I know exactly why. I'm 6'7" 235 lbs, and not dieting to lose weight.

Usually anytime someone starts a new diet, they focus on that diet and the early net results are from watching what you eat, eating foods specific to the diet while limiting or eliminating junk or processed food. Almost everyone has results from a new diet, because you're focused on it. In my case, over time I gradually started re-introducing processed foods simply because it was vegan, even though it was full of processed sugars, sodium etc.

Oreos, potato chips, mt. dew are technically vegan. Many people who go vegan and simply eliminate animal products and replace it with processed foods instead of healthy options. That's what happened to me gradually.

When I was truly a (mostly) plant based vegan, and taking a couple supplements (b12, pea protein powder) and limited my sugar intake, I felt great! After about 4 weeks of bloat having to toot a couple times an hour, my gut got used to the change. The BIGGEST improvement I noticed right off the bat was my joint pains pretty much vanished. My back pain was cut in half (I have degenerative disc disease), and my knee, shoulder and elbow tendinitis vanished or was cut by 90%. I was tracking my food daily on chronometer, making sure I hit as close to 100% on everything. It took a lot of time out of my day.

It got so hard and very time consuming to try to make vegan meals that my son would eat (he's not vegan), or when I would go to restaurants, family cookouts/thanksgiving etc. I sort of gave up and started reintroducing cheese, chicken, eggs and occasionally would eat a hamburger. I rarely eat any red meat, haven't drank milk in years but I eat way more junk than I used to.

I'm getting back into a diet that is mostly vegetarian, but this time I plan to eat farm fresh eggs from my dads farm to get "good" protein, choline, and other nutrients, and try my HARDEST to eliminate processed foods and sugars. I think that just eliminating sugar and processed food, you can get great results from almost ANY diet.

As a plant based eater, Dr. Berg has got the science right behind foods. Both diets can be either healthy or unhealthy for you.

I was on LCHF/Keto - for well over 8 years but regardless of what combo I tried, it never gave me any more energy, stopped my hair falling out, prevented me getting Osteoporosis, gum recession, jaw necrosis & loose teeth or reversed my diabetes. I also gained well over 30 more lbs. by the end it had also sent my insulin resistance into orbit. Not even 50+ units of insulin would get my blood sugar anywhere near normal. Eventually, my digestion virtually ground to a halt, & refused to process an8mal protein any longer.

Having no choice but to change to a plant-based diet, to my utter amazement, within 4-5 weeks my insulin sensitivity returned & I had to cut my insulin by more than half! I also started to lose the excess weight. For me, keeping fats to a minimum is the key. My cells just became fat-saturated. The Keto diet only ever ‘managed’ my diabetes by keeping the carbs very low, but it gradually became harder & harder to control it. Going plant-based has made a huge difference.

Hello Dr. Berg. The problem in the research in the movie was that they didn't consider the effect of carbohydrates that one eats with meats that led to increasing the level of insulin in our blood and as a result it is led to clogging the blood vessels.

Whatever your choice, let’s be honest refined carbs and sugar are everyone’s worst enemy! Love your work Berg! My life is going in an excellent direction with your advice. ✊🏼

The food wars is a bizarre. At least we’ve come to the point where most know refined sugar and carbs are super unhealthy.

I wish you’d do more videos on Veganism and discussing bioavailability from plant foods.

Also, you mentioned in your video on Chia Seeds, that they have 5x more calcium than milk, which is evidently Dairy. It contains Boron which makes bone, solid. It also has polyunsaturated fatty acids, which help to ionize calcium, allowing it to go into the tissues deeper. However calcium does work hand in hand with Vitamin D, so I suppose if you’re vegan in the winter and there’s no sun, then maybe Chia Seeds don’t cut the mustard.

I don't understand why so many people act like going vegan is instantly going to increase your odds of not eating healthy and not getting enough proper nutrients.I mean people tend to be unhealthy and do that easy enough on any kind of diet in my opinion. Seems like you would actually have to try harder to be unhealthy on a vegan diet when it limits your options of food to a more narrow spectrum of heathier foods. Just my two cents though.

I started watching Dr Berg's video in 2018 about the Keto diet. Lost 30 pounds in 3 months. Healthy Keto of course. As a military veteran and 42 years old, I have to say that is the best damn thing I've done in my life. Learn so much from this man I can even put it into words. I was put on almost 14 different medications before this diet by Veterans Affairs Hospital doctors. From anxiety, depression, thyroid, vertigo, cholesterol, sleeping...a bunch of crap. Almost two years later, thanks to the knowledge acquired and the ketogenic diet i manage my own health and I'm taking zero meds. It takes just common sense to listen, understand and apply from his information. This is my lifestyle now and I'm not trusting any documentaries attacking what made me a healthy man by just eating correctly and staying faithful to intermittent fasting. Hello to everyone from Puerto Rico and stay strong and supporting Eric Berg and his awesome wife for what they do to keep people informed and healthy free of charge. Thanks Dr. Berg...God bless. 💪💪💪

So I eat just whole foods... that is nuts, veggies and fruit. I’ve been an athlete and vegan for ten years. I live an amazing life and I am thriving.

One thing you can't argue with is that cooking of ANY meat causes the fats and cholesterol to oxidize so essentially you are ingesting these oxidized substances which in turn alters the function of LDL and HDL making BOTH atherogenic. This doesn't even take into account that cooked animal meat is highly carcinogenic and there are hundreds of studies on this!

For the most part, if you are eating a variety of vegetables as Dr. Berg recommends and lay off on all the processed foods, refined carbs, and sugars, you will most likely be fine. Take a supplement called astaxanthin to help counter the negative effects of cholesterol oxidation caused from eating cooked animal.

As I tell my own clients - do what works for you! Frequently check your blood inflammatory markers - interleukins 6, 10, 17A, SMC-Endothelin, TNF-Alpha, Lp-PLAC2, and a full cholesterol panel called CardioIQ by Quest Diagnostics. If the blood tests prove you don't have inflammation within the endothelium and you don't have oxidized cholesterol then keep doing whatever you are doing.

Even too much exercise can cause endothelial inflammation, so take note on that as well.

I've been vegan 15 years from now. I played high level handball and pushed my performance even further and healed my body by going vegan. I don't have problem building a muscle, I don't use steroids, just eating whole natural plant food. I tested vegan keto and OMAD, I'm feeling great. I don't have any deficiency, in my 34 still feeling like having 20. Also healed my astma and alergy by eliminating dairy products and meet, which caused lot of inflamation and mucus in my lungs. All mentioned minerals can be easily found in plants. For ex: sesame seeds have 5x more calcium than glass of milk.
Every human is different, so anyone can make their own choice, but should not judge others, if not before tried it. It's easy to have assumptions and not even getting informed about it. "Don't judge a book by its cover" :)
Being vegan works well for me, don't think changing it. I just want to say that it's not impossible. ;)
