I am 10 weeks post-op phalloplasty with Dr. Chen I tried to return to work but it wasn't exactly successful. I have a pretty physical job so it was harder than I thought. I go over what happened and what the new plan is for my current medical leave.

Please come to the uk so I can look after you.
I cried watching this because u can see the sadness in your eyes. Admitting your in pain or saying your struggling does in no way mean you are ungrateful it means you are a human! You will know when you are ready and you don't need to push yourself you just need to allow your body to heal, better to go back later on top form than go back early and not fit.
You are strong and brave and give strength to all your subscribers so just this once try a little bit to let's us give you strength and know that we are so proud that despite your anxiety you still went back to work, you still tried and more importantly you lasted a full half shift! I Cody I am proud of you. Love and hugs xxx

Big tight hug dearheart, I'm a cis male who has had many abdominal surgeries and had to not left or work for 9 weeks at a time, also a cook/manager so I know the grief. It's part of your journey and maybe a time to reflect more and a less in patience. It was for me and I learned alot. Again hugs and love.

You are a brave young man Cody. Not just to go through the processes that you have, but to be able to talk from your heart. I’m a one month newcomer to your videos so not sure if you have a medical person to talk to. You are doing well here, it’s ok to vent, that is part of the process you know. I’m glad you are accepting of your limitations and have a bit more time off. You need to ready your body and your mind to get there. Take care of all your body and hope you feel better soon . I’m a married 41 years, 65 year old woman, wishing you peace .

I'm really sorry you had that experience going back to work brother, don't apologize for having a rough day. It's informative and real, and a good reminder of a possible outcome for those having phalloplasty.

I am so glad that you made it 4 hours. Only by trying did you know you needed more time and you listened to your body. Definitely cheering for you and sending you positive thoughts and joy your way. Think of how far you've come since the surgery and all the small victories you've had. You can do it!

I hope you get back to normal soon. Allow yourself the time your body needs to heal. Everyone's healing time is different and you absolutely will be back to your normal self. Hugs to you.

As somebody who is looking into taking this same path, I just have to say that you are an inspiration man. Your videos are helping me a lot. I know that when my time comes to deal with this same procedure, I'm going to be in a similar mind frame. You have to know that things will get better, and you WILL get where you need to be. Things always get worse before they get better. Just keep pushing though! You will get there!

Hey Cody, I am 7 weeks post op stage 1 RFF phalloplasty with Dr Berli in OHSU. I am in the same situation with the post op depression. I agree this recovery is one of the hardest. Like you said it's not necessarily the scar but the limited function and mobility of my donor arm. I feel I am not were I expected to be in my recovery and it also has me a little down. Of course I regret nothing and would do it again also. But really I just wanted you to know you're not alone. Also thank you for being so open about it, it's helpful knowing that others experience this as well. Sending positive vibes.

Going back to work after major surgery, is harder than we sometimes we expect. Especially in physically demanding jobs! You were right to take extra time for healing, as pushing yourself too hard can cause more problems and recovery time. As a former restaurant cook, I know of the physical demands, standing and walking all your shift, lifting heavy pots and crates of food. I had a hysterectomy and came back to work early because of finances (I was a single mom) and I suffered for it! I could have caused damage to myself and had to have more surgery. You need to listen to your body, it will let you know when you're over doing it!

Thank you for sharing!! It's good that you listened to your body and took more time off to heal!

Your message is real and raw and that's why I watch you. It's more than gender reassignment. It's the physical, mental, and emotional that's affected also and some people only want to shine the light on the good. I appreciate that you share everything about it, good bad and ugly. I'm glad you put the message at the end because I was worried while watching that you're regretting it.

Hang in there, it will get better, be patient with your body, it will all be worth it in the long run!!

Babe this is just a snapshot!!!a moment in the big scheme of things, I know it seems a huge journey and it is!but be gentle and kind to yourself it's ok not to be 200% as for your work .... things won't be the same but you will learn to adjust and work in a slightly different way that works for you're importantly, give yourself "Time " time to heal
Time to be ok with not being Superfit
Time for your body to be healthy again
I am just a mum of 3 grown kids but I have been following your journey.... you are an inspiration never forget that
And remember the old "finding nemo adage on swimming keep on swimming
😘❤️❤️❤️❤️
