I purchased this mower last season knowing that the engine has major issues. In this video we will be replacing the broken engine with a known good engine to get this mower back in operational condition. Thank you all for the support.

If you have time, do a break down of the blown motor, its always good to see the failure points because its usually not just one thing that goes wrong, but a series of things to go wrong

I found your channel a few months back. I am no small engine mechanic, but I love to buy and flip on the side. Mowers, chainsaws, weedeaters, etc. I’m starting to get pretty good at it, but always happy to learn new stuff. Your channel is one of the best for helping me do that. I appreciate it!

Blown engine replacement better than taking it apart to get it fixed up and running again The Head lights look like a front end of a certain year model of a Chevy truck glad you have a replacement engine for this one Alex

Thank you. The process of washing the engine itself would not be superfluous.

Hey you should pull the deck off it before you start working on it. It will make it so much easier to work on it. Also easier to clean the deck when it's off.

24:38 Ah yes this happened to me. My brakes were rusty and sticking. I replaced the spindles first thinking it was the spindles. Woopsies. I didn't really mind the preventative maintenance though. haha

I have a 2008 JD LA115. The deck rotted out on it, but I bought another one and can't get the blades to engage. This video is what I needed so maybe I can get mine fixed. Thank you for this video and keep them coming. Great job!!!

Smart move. Changing the engine shroud was super slick.

Nice tractor Alex. Here in Iowa John Deere tractors bring big money, especially in the condition yours is in. With all the dirt on that deck its a wonder it wasn't all rotted out. You probably already sold that J.D.👍🔧🇺🇸

I am retired and to keep myself occupied I work on John Deere ride-on mowers, for what it's worth I just drop off the mower deck as a matter of course. Makes things so much easier.

make sure you grease it up good after washing

Hey, Alex! So I guess you’re already planning on at least one followup video - tearing apart that engine for a diagnosis.
I’d like to request a second one - using Baldeagle’s technique to repair that seat. I’m very curious to see how others have succeeded with it. 👍
