Ooh, I just learned how to paint complex form, you choose a vibrant color, like red with a low opacity, then paint it over black, then more layers of the red make the area brighter and less layer greater.
I did that today also, and I saw this.
Absolute genius.
I only used a multiply mode, then erasing some part and lowering the opacity.
A less painfully way to add soft shading.
