Innovating finance for weather & climate observations | #COP26 High-Level Event | Climate Action

WMO, UNEP, and UNDP will announce the creation of the Systematic Observations Financing Facility (SOFF) as a UN Multi-Partner Trust Fund. SOFF provides the foundations for an effective international response to climate change. It will fill critical data gaps in basic weather and climate observations from the most vulnerable countries that undermine efforts to build climate resilience across the globe.

Sometimes its not the financial is the problem. The problem sometimes implementing such information systems that has to do with decision makers and lack of managment essential skills for people doing decision implementing such data collection and environmental monitoring machines and tools used in collecting data. ALSO LACK of information specialist and how rare and underpaid professional that many avoid to study and be part of such profession. Example is what Health Information specialist challenges with their carrier and wages and benefits. We need to improve the observers to improve the observations 😇🙏
