Showing someone REQUIEM FOR A DREAM is more effective than simply saying "Don't do drugs"

I would add "Precious" (2009). It is a brilliant movie with outstanding acting, but it is so hard to watch.

Not a film, but a documentary Dear Zachary might be the most soul destroying thing I've ever watched.

If a movie is good, you won't notice it's runtime

I have watched both 2001: A Space Odyssey and Citizen Kane multiple times. It is the artistry that keeps me coming back for more.

Just a note about Ben Kingsley his birthname is Krishna Bhanji and his father is of Gujarati Indian descent. I see people bagging him for not “being Indian”. Well that’s not quite accurate.

I agree with many of these but if you ever get a chance to see "Lawrence of Arabia" on a big screen I highly recommend it, no matter if you have seen it before. Like many of David Lean's films, it is such a large scale visual that it needs a large scale medium to really show itself off and give the biggest impact.

The Deer Hunter could have easily made the list. I could watch it again, but most people I know who’ve watched it couldn’t watch it again.

The saddest part of that story, the actual account that is, was the fact that after gaining his freedom back he would later go permanently missing. He was presumed to have either been killed or kidnapped and resold into slavery

Anyone thinking of American History X? I literally can't watch that movie again...

Sofie's Choice is a film that I can only watch once...it is far too heartbreaking.

Seriously? Just because a movie is long doesn't mean you shouldn't watch it again... just because the younger generation has no sense of patience or think anything longer than a 1 minute tick tock video is too long doesn't make a movie bad or unwatchable a second time. Gone with the wind is one of the greatest movies ever and extremely rewatchable

I've watched "Apocalyse Now" many times, and will watch it many times more.

You hit it on the nail with Boy in the Striped Pajamas. I loved it, but I definitely can’t ever watch it again. The same is true with The Changling

A Clockwork Orange is a fairly hard watch, more so than the majority of the films on this list.

I think the green mile deserves at least an honorable mention. I mean, I'd still watch it again, but I can see why somebody wouldn't. It's very long and not for the faint of heart, but still incredible imo.

"Boys Don't Cry" made me feel like I had never seen a movie before, and I don't think I have the mental stamina to ever watch it again.
