It is strange to think that there are now at least 4,719 confirmed exoplanets orbiting 3,490 star systems in the universe, but up until 1995 we didn't even know they existed. It is thought that there are billions if not trillions of exoplanets in our galaxy alone that are still waiting to be discovered. But of the ones that have been identified all manner of weird and wonderful things have been observed and although some exoplanets are thought to have the potential to host life, others are the stuff of nightmares! Here we look at just five of them.... so from the oldest to the hottest here are 5 Of The Strangest Planets Discovered So Far In The Universe.

I wonder how many planets exist that are sailing across space. Planets enveloped in darkness, wandering with no solar system to call home.

I wonder if any of these planets might have non-carbon based lifeforms...
Imagine a body that can survive _glass and lava rain._ 😭

“The maximum temperature a human can survive is 108° F, ” as the weather forecast says it’s going to be 111° here in Tucson, Arizona lol

"This is of course, as with most things in the universe, just a calculated guess. In reality, no one knows."

Thank you Top 5s for keeping it real and not throwing out unproven statements as fact. Keep that objectivity!

What I don’t get is how anyone can actually know such specific details about these planets just from observations from billions of lightyears away?

We are all aliens just living on borrowed time from one celestial creature. Our mind will never comprehend how big our universe really is it’s so mind boggling 🤯

The astronomers *recently* discovered that a gargantuan leviathan sized *disc* covered even dimmed a colossal star for a while! I am not saying it is aliens but its *definetly* aliens

evaporating between 1, 000 to 100, 000 tons a second every second there's 31, 536, 000 seconds in a year so between 31 billion to 3.1 trillion tons a year it is evaporating ( if my maths is right ) and it has a mass of around 1.2 Jupiter . Jupiter's mass is around 1898130 yotta-grams so round that up to about yotta-grams for that star so it would take about 200, 000 to 20 million years to evaporate.

This day and age, its no longer a question of belief, but acceptance that we are not the only civilization in the universe.
