U.S., Japanese Officials Discuss China, Taiwan, Indo-Pacific Issues at Department of State (7/29/22)

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo hosted Japanese Foreign Minister Hayashi Yoshimasa and Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade, and Industry Haguida Koichi at the Department of State on Friday for the inaugural ministerial meeting of the U.S.-Japan Economic Policy Consultative Committee. The officials answered questions from the press about issues related to coercion by the People's Republic of China (PRC) as well as the policies of the United States and Japan toward Taiwan.
