Omg I’m in the US and I know the Nescafé commercial! Anthony Head aka Giles from Buffy the Vampire Slayer was in it!! Now I want to read lol.

Epic TBR! I hope they're all as fantastic as they look! I still can't get over the fact there is a book about the Nescafe couple 😂

I really enjoyed Vigilante as a teenager, but I'm not sure how I'd feel about it now. I grew up in a small town in Texas, and I've grown much more liberal since moving on from there.

Great TBR video. I'm excited to announce, too, that I'm now a patron!

Awesome pile of trash there, Olly - have got a few of the same on my list, so I'll really enjoy seeing how your experience reading them compares with my own! Masterful strategy for filling in the whole Garbingo Board AND reading something from all the themes too. Enjoy your 'hot' blacksmith romance (I'm sure there'll be some steam, even if it's only in reference to molten metal...) 🙂

A lesbian shifter romance with a gargoyle. Well that just tops everything. Vigilante! Of course I read all those as they came out. It’s an epic of comic trash.

The" Gold Blend Couple " adverts starred Anthony Head, who played Giles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Sharon Maughan . I remember they actually advertised the last instalment of the advert in the national press. People tuned in to watch and find out will they or won't they get together. There were 12 instalments that ran for 6 years. They apparently boosted sales of Nescafe by 50% in the UK . They were reshot for the US as the "Taster's Choice Saga".

In the States the coffee commercials featured Taster's Choice coffee as I recall. The books were written by Susan Moody who is a very fine mystery author. I read her Penny Wanawake series and saw Moody at couple of mystery conferences. She was very nice and very funny. I'm determined to read Jilly Cooper's " Score"for Garbaugust. It, like the book I read last year, "Apassionta, " take place in the world of classical music. It does come in at 801 pages on my Kindle. I like her because she has a sense of humor.

And William Hegner is triumphant! Glad he ticked so many boxes. Now the question is will you find him readable?

I agree with you about the name Jonny Cassidy. Shag haircut, velvet jacket, ruffled shirt, the works.

Hello Olly. I really enjoy your reviews and find most to be on point. Would you consider doing a review on pulp series, The Sharpshooter by Bruno Rossi and Frank Scarpetta's The Marksman series?

I think there should have been something about toilets on the bingo card ... there was one after all in the Garbaugust promo. The Bog would have been ideal 😎 ps Anthony Head (as in Buffy) was in the Nescafe ads ... and apart from the super trashy Triangle (which I believe was set on a ferry!), she also played the rogue timelord The Rani in Doctor Who!

Such an epic TBR, Olly! I'm also reading Flowers in the Attic, but it's the first time for me! I'm excited! Awesome selection of trashy reads 🔥

The Stud was Jackie's second book. It was banned here in Australia when it came out (as was her first novel from the year before). We were a different country then... allegedly.

I was on vacation in Vancouver, BC and came across a great used book store called MacLeod's... it was a treasure trove of trash (and fancypants stuff too). It immediately got me excited for GarbAugust. I picked up "The Gaunt Woman" by Edmund Gilligan for my men's adventure and "The Dresden Green" by Nicolas Freeling as a wildcard. I'm not sure if Freeling's book is trash, but considering there are at least 6 murders, a communist crime ring, and a naked woman held at gunpoint all called out in the teaser, I'm guessing it will do.

I need to get to the library! I was going today in my lunch hour but it was tipping it down - hope can get there in the next couple of days. I've got the bingo card printed off to take with me but still not sure what I'll come home with - exciting!

Such an eclectic and fantastic TBR!! I'm seriously impressed at the range you were able to achieve here. I'd expect nothing less from the Garbaugust king 🚮 👑

I read The Bog recently. It was fun but it got wonky towards the end.

I’m reading Taken By the Tetris too.
