Even when sewing modern garments, historical sewers just can't keep our hands off of the old stuff, can we? :)

If we ever needed more evidence that Marika is all goodness and light...she just made a dress with organza, silk, chiffon AND TULLE with ZERO COMPLAINTS.

OMG THE WALK IN THE SNOW WAS PERFECTION! You had the vulnerability and beauty and the tenderness of the red rose. Absolutely amazing!

Stunning! The shots of you, in the dress, in the snow, are so strikingly gorgeous! It’s hard to see how you can top this but yet I am really looking forward to when you have really blinged it out!

Been creeping around sewing Youtube lately and I think this is the video that convinced me I totally can and should make a corset 🥰

I love the dresses you do that show not that you "can" dress a larger figure well but that often you NEED a taller, broader figure to make a certain gown work. This is up there with the constellation gown.

"The bust is 30, the waist is 19" is where I started giggling. You did an amazing job with everything from the alterations to the very last sparkle. Love love love it!

Only the fact that it is an hour long made me already happy. It is very interesting to see the steps you took, the progress and the fabulous outcome. Thank you for making and posting this! Looking forward to the next video!

Edit: mini dance parties after finishing a piece are the best😊

There has to be a lucrative business in producing all those larger patterns for all of us who don’t have 30 inch busts and 19 inch waists! I would never be confident enough, or patient enough, to ‘slash and spread’ patterns the way Marieke does!

I need to have more dance parties during my sewing projects.
The dress is stunning and your transformation spin is really beautiful. :)

I hadn’t realised the name of your channel is a reference to beauty and the beast. Stunning gown and enchanting footage in the snow! Well done!

First: I adore your concept and the way you've put it together is absolutely stunning!

Second: I got a thrill when I recognized some of those book spines behind you! I would love to see some of your book recommendations some day!
