New Japan Pro-Wrestling certainly revolutionized and began many stories that came to fruition for the next few years. Like the Tanahashi-Okada rivalry, Bullet Club, L.I.J, the rise of Kenny Omega, Will Ospreay, Jay White, and Juice Robinson, plus Tetsuya Naito's redemption story across the mid-2010s.

2012 was the year I got into wrestling

I saw The Rock VS Cena match in YouTube and was amazed, respected the stars at the time such as Randy Orton, CM Punk and Sheamus

And also enjoyed watching classic wrestling matches from collections that were on Netflix

The year I got back into pro wrestling! Started watching 2001 and ended up backing out 2007.
The big rivalry between Rock and Cena hooked me back in. Then Brock's return teased me to stick around. CM Punk kept me around.

36:06 There it is. Maybe one of the last full episodes of MNR I watched lol. Three hours of weekly wrestling is insane. It should be a special thing.

This kind of videos are amazing to watch and bring back great memories. Also great for those that have been drinking the same Kool Aid all their life and don’t know that other great wrestling promotions exist.

Sam's cadence is perfect for this kind of video

I LOVE these long form videos which Cultaholic do. Can only imagine the sheer amount of research, time and effort it would have taken to build the timeline, put it all together, do the voiceover and then edit it all together with the images. We are truly spoilt by getting these for free!

Even though the early 2010s (2010-2012) had memorable moments/matches like rock vs Cena, rise of cm punk, Brock returns and the Sheild debut. I still don’t feel nostalgic or miss this time period at all when it comes to WWE. Especially with things like heel Michael Cole, Brock losing to Cena after returning, John laurinaitis main eventing PPV, Cm punk losing to HHH and John Cena being booked as an underdog and then only for him to go super Cena and wins for majority of his matches.

How about 2014? That feels like a pretty huge year, if only for Mania 30 and everything surrounding it

...also I went to Extreme Rules that year, and whenever that show gets brought up I get a warm feeling in my TumTum because it was the first PPV/non-house show I ever went to

I wasn’t watching WWE too much in 2012 but I do remember hearing about Brock Lesnar coming back and Rock and Cena facing off at WrestleMania 28.

I was fairly young in 2012 therefore not in tune with the business side of WWE, but I didn’t know the network was supposed to debut in 2012

"With Cornette periodically ranting about King to this very day."

That's surprising. Cornette doesn't really seem like the kind of guy who holds grudges.

Who remembers when Brock Lesnar announced his 'retirement' through Tout? Good times 😂

Unpopular opinion: while WM28 was sold on Rock vs Cena, the Hell in a Cell match between Undertaker and Triple H with HBK as the special guest referee (dubbed End of an Era) should have gone last as the main event of WrestleMania XXVIII.
