BimmerWorld Bergsteiger takes on the UPPER Section at Pikes Peak Testing

We were lucky enough to be the only group to be allowed to run the upper section during the second week of testing. Bad weather with snow, ice, fog, you name it kept the road from being cleared for cars. Thankfully we happened to roll up to the top on Friday just before another round of storms came in and spoiled the fun for the rest Saturday and Sunday. Even still the road was VERY slippery and still had several areas where sheets of ice spanned across both lanes in corners.

Here is a short blast to the summit while we continue dialing the car in for the big bumps that are all over this section. Finding speed in this last third of the mountain can make the difference in several places on the timing sheet.

Would you be willing to drive the Bergsteiger up the mountain with random ice patches all over and 1500hp under your right foot?

Racing up the Peak is tough enough…but it would be a hard NO for me when it has ice hidden everywhere. 😳😨😱

I know the thumbnail says 1500 HP, but how much was it making in the upper section where the air is thinner?
