Kevin Owens lets his NXT Championship victory sink in: February 11, 2015

An overjoyed Kevin Owens explains to Renee Young why winning the NXT Title was well worth the many sacrifices he’s made.

You see how natural Kevin Owens is. This is one of the reasons why we loved Kevin Steen when he was in ROH. He has the "IT" factor about him and he can wrestle his ass off.

Its very interesting how they have booked Owens as a character. Hes seen as a family man and is willing to do what it takes to provide for them..but its what hes willing to do..the lengths that hes willing to go to that make him be presented as a heel. The character is very natural in presentation and therefore doesnt come across as forced. The Kevin Owens character feels real because there are men out there who would do anything to give their family the life that theyve always wanted..some by shady means..some by forceful means..but the 1s that go to those lengths are often hated by the public even though to them they are just trying to do whats right by their family

I love how he's not the typical "I hate everything" type of heel. Very refreshing.

Kevin Owens is an excellent heel inside the ring, but I just can't boo him when he cuts promos like these.

The most realistic heel in ages. A guy who is a heel for a reason, instead of being a heel for the sake of it.

This is what I wish the "new breed" of heels would look and sound like. Owens isn't the cliche moustache-twirling villain who is over-the-top evil, but rather just a man with very real reasons and motivation that most of us probably identify with, but who sometimes uses questionable methods to achieve those goals. Sometimes I think that the 1950s-styles of black-white morality that wrestling likes to use so much is holding it back from evolving as a narrative medium. Hopefully a heel like Owens is a sign of things to come.

As someone who has followed his career for a long time (About 6 years now) I was so happy for him. It meant so much to see him get a spot. After everyone going before him. Guys I watched and him being the only one left. And it was finally his time tonight. Wow... Just wow. So happy. Was amazing

I love it, you dont see him jumping up and down for joy yelling amd screaming, you see him focused and actually talking about how he did for his family and how he did what he said he was gonna do, if you're not sold on Kevin Owens now, then I dont know what to say

I like that they are actually fleshing Kevin out and not just letting him be a cookie cutter Heel.  He shows motivations beyond what we have seen in a while.  I look forward to seeing where NXT/WWE go with it.
