The gentlemen film is a piece of art. The opening credits are the best ive seen last year and this.

“If you wish to be the king of the jungle, you cannot just act like a king, you have to be the king. There can be no doubt. Because doubt causes chaos and one's own demise. My queen taught me that.”
-What a great opening scene although the entire quote wasn’t spoken til the Gentlemen is an amazingly addictive movie. Guy Ritchie nailed it. 👏

I love how movies, namely, "The Gentleman", can bring cinema and music together. I cant count how many songs I've discovered from movies and vise versa.

Guy Ritchie always has some killer opening credits of his movies and this one is no different. Great movie and great song.

My great grandmother, Irene Adkissen Veith, born 1901, always taught me my ancestors on her father’s side (Adkissens) came through the gap with Boone. She was a retired schoolteacher and died in 1997. Anyway, I got to hear about two World Wars, the Depression, the Spanish Flu, the 1934 Flood, the Dust Bowl, the Cold War and all kinds of things straight from the source growing up. Love you, Nonna.

Lyrics
Cumberland gap, it's a devil of a gap
Cumberland gap, it's a devil of a gap
Kiss me momma, kiss your boy
Bless me well and lucky
For I won't be back til' I return
I'm gone to old Kentucky
Cumberland gap, it's a devil of a gap
That's what the scouts all tell ya
Sure enough it may get tough
If it doesn't kill ya, kill ya
Kentucky she's a waiting on the other side
Give you the fever, put the daylight in your eyes
Brother John's already gone
With the full-blood Cherokee maiden
He made the trip in the blizzard's grip
I'd rather wrestle Satan
Cumberland gap, it's a devil of a gap
Oh, the snow kept coming
Picked her up upon his back
By God, he loved that woman!
Daniel stood on the pinnacle rock
Lookin' up and down the mountain
Took his trusty old flint-lock
Daniel started shoutin', shoutin':
Kentucky she's a waiting on the other side
Give you the fever, put the daylight in your eyes
Cumberland gap, it's a devil of a gap
Cumberland gap, it's a devil of a gap
Cumberland gap, it's a devil of a gap
Cumberland gap, it's a devil of a gap

As soon as I heard that song playing opening credits I Shazamed it with the quickness in theater. Good thing I was in back row.
Guy Richie nailed this movie and soundtrack!

Fell in love with this song immediately! It has such a timeless sound that I had guessed it would be from the 70s, still shocked that it’s a relatively new song…
