The COVID-19 pandemic has had a paralyzing effect on societies, limiting availability and access to essential goods as well as medical supplies, and causing a downturn in the global economy. The coronavirus crisis has ushered in a new digital era, as nearly every aspect of our lives, including many jobs, have moved online. The reliance on digital infrastructure have presented opportunities for state and non-state actors to exploit weaknesses in the systems and capitalize on the crisis. Now more than ever, the transatlantic community is relying on continued and uninterrupted operation of cyber systems and IT networks, which are crucial to ensure the privacy and security of our societies, functioning of economies, and the public’s health and safety.
