The fact Windows XP slowly turns grey always unnerved me as a kid. It felt like I was doing something wrong just by turning off the computer.

remember when computers werent black square corperate themed and had neat colors, multiple themes, and made little jingles and stuff. good times..

I always thought the screen fading to black and white was a great touch

Just remembered what I missed from XP.
Colors truly helped:
- yellow was for sleep mode
- red for shutting off
- green for restart
and I didn't have to read it, just instant press, but now I have to READ the text before pressing, lol.
Bring back colors, Gates!

Window XP was a blessing! I can’t remember a single problem I had using it. Compared to 98se and “ME” which gave me nail biting blue screens of death and freezes ups and lost DLL files
