Never ever use polymer unless it is specifically beefed up to compensate. They will break.

The Tennessee Arms lowers are dope I have 3. One in .308, the Tac-9 which is their 9mm PCC lower, and another ar308 lower that's getting built now for 8.6 Blackout. They are made with the same type of nylon composite that's used in glocks, they beef up the shoulder where the buffer tube attaches that's were most the cheap ones snap from recoil, and they run a marine grade brass insert for the threads for the buffer tube so it doesn't strip out. Their prices are decent too payed $29.99 for the lower for the 8.6.

Which is the lightest? Aluminum or carbon fiber?

I have one of those polymer lowers on a 308 upper. Its held up just fine.

They are weak at the top of the buffer tower, though. Id recommend wrapping a hose clamp around it for the added rigidity.

Polymer is the worst option and shouldn’t even be one to begin with

Every single one of those lowers are junk, hammer forged is the only way to go!
