Russia was not banned from the Olympic Games in 2016, 2018 and 2020. Our country was only limited in the number of participants in it.

South Africa was banned from the Olympics from 1964 to 1992 due to its strict policy of racial segregation known as apartheid. This policy prevented non-white South Africans from participating in any aspect of society, including sports. The ban was imposed by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in an effort to pressure South Africa to abandon apartheid and allow all athletes, regardless of race, to compete. The ban was finally lifted in 1992 after the end of apartheid and the establishment of a multiracial democracy in South Africa.
