A similar thing happened to my cousin back in 2007. He laid his head on the table, and the teacher said that as long as he listened, she didn't care. She asked him a question, and he got it correct. Damn, 2nd grade felt like a lifetime ago. 😂

Literally! I just had parent/teacher conferences for my son (born 2007), and his English teacher told me that my son falls asleep in his class often, but when the teacher talks to my son in regards to the subject they are covering, my son is able to give a complete rundown. I’ve known lots of teacher who have said most of the time, as long as kids aren’t disruptive and are able to answer questions, they just let the kids sleep. You never know what the kids have going on outside of the classroom. Anything from having to work late at a part time job to family issues that have the kid mentally/emotionally worn out to teens just sometimes need extra sleep. And if that kid feels safe enough to fall asleep, then that may be one of the biggest compliments you can get. But at the same time, the kid needs to be held accountable (kind of like in this cute/funny skit) and be able to demonstrate knowledge. If a person is hungry, exhausted, or feels unsafe, they are not going to learn anything anyway.
