The Timurids and Babur: The Mughal Empire I

This lecture covers the Timurids briefly in an attempt to look at the antecedents of the Mughal Empire. We look at Timur's invasion of Delhi in 1398 and his sacking of the city; and from there we move on to attempts, many decades later, by Babur to establish himself as the heir to the empire in central Asia, and his eventual decision to turn to India where he eventually becomes successful in establishing what would become the Mughal Empire in 1526.
