You can tell the photo of Trump watching Biden drop out is the only photo like that to ever exist. That’s what makes it so special to see.

shame this video is in a portrait crop and doesn't show the photos in their entirety. Kind of defeats the purpose of this video's theme and topic.

2:40 I'm surprised they let Erin anywhere near the VP with those guns.

photojournalism can be really underappreciated. its a talent to get a great photo and tell a story at the same time

Great video! But why not make a horizontal full screen video? This format is horrible for this piece.

As much as I absolutely hate Trump with every fiber of my being, that first picture of him is incredible

Beautiful work, Erin and Doug. Thank you.

They are amazing photojournalists. It feels like an under appreciated art form that is equally informative as it is creative.

Thank you for sharing Erin and Doug's picture making stories. I was moved to hear their feelings with their pictures presented before them. Please produce more videos that share behind the scenes experiences from creatives at NYT.

I wonder what it's like to be a photojournalist in a world where everybody has a camera in their pocket.

I guess everyone's convinced of how special and important this election is; no matter your candidate. It's an honour to see who's capturing history for people to see - for decades and decades to come.

Surprised Doug didn’t mention the Butler County photo

Hey NYT, I love how you talked to Peter Singer. May I recommend doing even more Effective Altruism-reporting stuff? The more good you do, the better, and the more people who act upon that belief, (On average, with some assumptions) the more good is done, and (on average, with some assumptions) the more you report on Effective Altruism, the more people act upon this belief, and therefore (on average, working with some assumptions) the more you report on Effective Altruism, the better.

Also, many people might want to hear about good-doers for a change. (You shouldn't be FOCUSED on what readers WANT, you should be focused on what is best for them - if it were only what they wanted, you might as well only report on cute puppies. However, reader enjoyment is an added bonus.)

Sincerely, from one good-doer to another (I hope),
Wes.

Turn your camera to the side. I thought we fixed this like 10 years ago.
