Stunning view. Right place, right moment.
Humanity has only been doing this for a few decades, so it's a once in a lifetime opportunity to witness this. Thanks for sharing.

Usually the noise of cars and traffic are unbearable but in this video it's immersive.

THIS IS LEGIT EVEN MORE INCREDIBLE that the actual footage you see close up. Wow, as if that can be seen in that detail from that far off. Absolutely stunning. One of the greatest sights I've ever witnessed.

They should launch all missions at sunset just like this one. The plan was definitely to show us everything and get everyone talking about spacex. Fantastic work

I have probably seen video of well over a hundred launches in my life time and this is by far the most beautiful. The lighting with the sun just below the horizon resulting in the illuminated plume, the due South launch azimuth for a polar orbit keeping the trajectory near the coast, the clear sky just all combined for the perfect launch visuals. Spectacular is too weak of a word. I have never seen the actual motion of a rocket's exhaust plume displayed so clearly, especially the expanding cone of the single Merlin vac engine on the second stage.

I remember walking home and from my backyard seeing this and it was this feeling of total amazement and awe, not knowing at the time that it was a spaced launch. being 9-10 at the time, I thought it was the universe had leaked or something, but now I know it was just a launching, which I still find amazing as I got to experience it with my mother and neighbors as the community of Anaheim

Don't know why it took two years for this to appear in my recommendations but boy am I glad it did!

Truly gorgeous. I love how you can see everything: booster, fairings, and second stage firing away. And the booster's RCS plumes look really cool.

I remember setting multiple alarms to view this launch when I lived out there in the Mojave desert. It was absolutely stunning and something I'll never forget.

Finally! Someone finally had the sense to "pan back" and let others experience the whole trail! It's difficult to have perspective and orientation when one zooms in on the front section only. Nice post!
