My mother is 67 y-old. Three strokes the last 3 years. With 2 brutal falls on the head.

My Question : she can't distinguish a short from a tee-shirt. She tries to dress up with both. What should we do to help her recognize the difference between closes, objets ? (Same thing happen with a bottle cap, thinking it was a medecine...).

When you say "walking" do you mean with a cane or walking poles or is it without any assisted device?

Thank you Tara, but after 7 years I still have a lot of walking problems (balance and ankle spasticity). Is it in this case wise to focus on quantity of walking (with a walker)? This seems to contradict earlier statements that learning a wrong walking pattern might have a negative effect on joints in the long haul.
