No Motor Vehicles UK Road Sign. This sign “No Motor Vehicles” can be misunderstood by thinking it’s saying cars and motorcycles are allowed, but it’s actually the opposite. It’s actually saying no motor vehicles are allowed in this road. And it’s probably because it’s reserved for pedestrians and cyclists.

Had not been back home in decades got caught out on this sign also one with a red circle and nothing in middle means the same thing.. Putting a red line through the middle would stop all confusion but the city will not do that because confusion = juicy ticket revenue..

The people that designed this sign must have ran out of paint, as to me it should have a red diagonal line going through it, why can't they fix this flipping sign, its idiotic not to have the red diagonal line going through it. Oh I see, its designed to catch you out, so they have your safety and best interests at heart really, not tickets and fines.. no only your safety. Circular signs are always instructions, and will either tell you that you must do something or that you must not do something. In every case a blue circle means you must and a red circle means you must not. - And if you are color blind, you can go do one then.
