Old Oak Common Station in London begins to take shape

Old Oak Common is a new super-hub set to be the best-connected and largest new railway station ever built in the UK. The station will have fourteen platforms, a mix of six high-speed and eight conventional service platforms, with an 850m-long station box, big enough to fit 6,300 Routemaster buses inside.

no one will go to Paddington, why ? it will become a branch line... all the trains will stop here and it will have more links to other railways .

Strange isn't if this contract had been debated in Holyrood opposition parties would be incensed at the huge cost over run and many years delay in completing this project and calling for Ministers to resign.

i have a question: Is it a british thing to "brag" with the jobs supported? i mean: if you have many jobs that are useless it is not positive, . but on the other end of the spectrum: if you have work that should be done by more workers it is also not positive. so it is not really a useful indicator, just nice to have... right?

The station should be renamed Elizabeth in honour of our late monarch.
