In this episode we look at the recent arms buildup in the Balkans. Ever since Russia launched its attack on Ukraine in late February, several countries have been importing more weapons, launching what many have described as a new regional arms race. The increased purchase of military hardware has also made fragile political situations in several countries, more worrying. Serbia and Croatia in particular, are rapidly increasing their arsenals in a show of force both at home and abroad. We discuss what Balkan countries are buying weapons and from which countries.

Isn't it rather the case that the old device is simply replaced??? Because the Serbian Air Force Migs can only fly for a maximum of 10 years before they break down. The Serbian air defense system is also ancient. It consists of Neva-125 systems from the sixties. Why is double standard used? Why is the purchase of weapons bad here and not there, etc.? Even Serbia has bought a new air defense system from the communist Chinese. They should be extremely careful with this though as the Indian airforce have claimed to be able to easily destroy communist Chinese air defenses if the PLA try to invade India.
