My insurance will not cover occipital nerve blocks anymore. They were working to reduce pain days. Is there any hope that they will be FDA approved soon? I am dx with chronic migraine, cervical stenosis, cervical dystonia, cluster headaches, trigeminal neuro, and occipital neuralgia. YOu would think with all that, that they would let me have something that is working. Now I have to take narcotics which I do not prefer or pay for the procedures out of pocket at $400 each with dr discounting it.

I have tried almost all available meds on the market and still have 25-26 migraine days a month. When I was able to get the blocks and the other meds that insurance now denies, I was able to get closer to 10-15 days free from pain. Even 5 days would be wonderful improvement! Life is almost impossible only getting 5 days a month not in pain.
