Spanish fans in Madrid are disappointed after losing 4-2 on penalties to Italy in the Euro 2020 semi-finals following a 1-1 draw. "It makes me sad, but I think we can be proud of how Spain did in the Euros," said one fan after the match.

Being an Italian supporter, I think overall Spain managed to develop a really good game especially making a good ball possession that paralized our game. As for clear goal chances we performed better I think, and after all you can keep the ball as much as you want but eventually you must score. And that was the only thing Spain missed. And everybody knows penalties are cruel, sometime you win, sometime you lose. What a great team though, one of the best of this Championship, I didn’t expect that. Congratulations! Now best of luck to us for the final! FORZA AZZURRI!!!!

As an Azzurri supporter, I was of the position that IF Italy went out to Spain, that we could be proud of how we performed throughout the Euros, having not even qualified for the '18 WC. That said, Spain deserved to go through & can take pride in their performance. Euro 2021/2 might have come a bit early in this Spanish team's development. Olmo really was something special, not only in creating chances, but also in stamina. I'm Irish btw and Spain played better and did themselves a lot of good in their reputation.
