Great Video. I never heard the Elgar symphony but the second I heard it I knew it had to be him, so English sounding haha!

Thanks again. Failed to spot Dvorak. Lucky guess with Sviridov. 14

Thankfully this isn't a Symphonic Lit class. Always more to learn. Thank you for these.

This is so good . . . but can you include some Gershwin in a future edition?

14/15 ...I was surprised by Dvorak, too! These are fun.

The only thing I'd say is that by displaying the composer's names in different colours, you make it easier and easier. On the 10th or 11th go, you've only a handful of names not previously played to guess from.

A slightly harder and more consistent game would be had if you listed 15 composers without highlighting any previously-played ones, and in fact allowing for the possibility of the same composer to be played multiple times. That is, a pool of 15 _possible_ composer's is displayed without colouring or highlighting, and 15 pieces are played... but maybe those 15 pieces were written by only 11 of the displayed composers.

Just a thought. It's fun, anyway! Thank you for the time spent putting these together.

Really hard. That changes from these many classic tests always featuring the same well-known pieces.

Thank you for Mahler and Bruckner! Mahler 1. Symphony Was a great choice. I would be happy about Mahler appearing in the next video again;D maybe with his 8th or 3rd. Both marvellous pieces!

This one seemed a bit harder to me, or maybe I just wasn't fully awake yet! 10/15 Two composers I had never heard of - Sviridov and Weinberg. I liked the Sviridov piece, though.
Thanks for the quiz and please keep them coming!

Another fine video. Good mixture of easy and harder choices. I got 13 composers right (and identified 10 works) out of 15. Oddly enough, I expected to trip on Sviridov or Weinberg, but it's Dvorak that fooled me! Please, more! Maybe more specific groupings, for instance '20th century opera' or 'string quartets'. When the selection is very broad, as it is here, luck plays a greater role.

Good one! A bit harder than the previous quizzen, I got only 11/15. Early Mozart threw me off, like mr. Liszt also observed it sounded a bit Baroquish. Also I don't know Weinberg, so I attributed some pieces I did not recognize to him...

Next quiz some Vassiliy Kalinnikov and Josef Suk please?

14 out of 15. The only one I didn't register was the Rachmaninoff, because I have never heard the Vocalise in the orchestral version without vocals before.
The one that took me the longest to guess was the Mozart, because I hadn't looked at the list. So it took me the whole 15 seconds and a glance at the list. Because it could have been Haydn (shows you a lot about how unindividual many works of that early classical period were).
The second longest was the Liszt which took me 10 seconds until I reconized where that was going. The others I recognized in between the first 2 seconds.

Yes. That happens when you listen to classical music since you could think. Thanks Mom and Dad. ;)

I missed 1. I'm not as familiar with all of Dvorak's music as I should be.

Only I would know Tanhauser of Richard Wagner and Dance macabre of Camile Saint Sanz . Pardon for the little.

Tough one, but my favourite symphony of all time was up there! (The 4th in order.)
