One of the best descriptions for Michael Myers: "How do you kill, what's not alive?"

I remember when we tape the movie in the 80's with this intro! We were at the old house where our grandma lived!

I still have the VHS recording of this! I remember watching it the night it premiered, as we had cable. I watched it on the WKBW station, as we had access to that station just north of Toronto, Ontario. Linda Pellegrino was hosting the television premier that night. Memories!

I do remember this well because I watched every airing of this on the various channels it ran on in October of 1985. USA and WGN on cable and locally on KTXH. I remember it was a syndicated TV package by Universal Pictures. Kind of surprised NBC didn't air it as they had done with the original Halloween just a couple years earlier. Man this was a horribly re-worked version with a happier ending. This version ran on TV well into the 90s. Pleased to see they now run an edited version of the original. Don't get me wrong I love the nostalgia factor of seeing this again. The memories it brings back as I remember where 15 year old me was and with who I was watching this with the night it premiered (Hi Lollie!). I remember seeing the first promo and then the anticipation for not only to see it but what they did to clean it up for television. I think that was the first time I was ever so disappointed with an edited for television movie.

I wonder if anyone would pass me the link for the full broadcast even of the first movie aired in 1981 ! That would be awesome !

Everybody i truly enjoyed Halloween 2. It. Had the right amount scary scenes. The director rick Rosenthal, direction was great. Also John carpenter, directed some of the scenes.

Was this the altered "TV version" that ends with a relieved Laurie saying "We made it" in the ambulance? Funny how Carpenter had to cut some things and create/add new footage (in the first and second Halloween films) to prepare them for the big major network debuts.

I can't even imagine the excitement of kids when these flicks finally aired on broadcast television ... especially kids who loved spooky stuff and were too young for the theatrical releases. I was a teen when the Halloween movies came to TV and for many people it was an event not to be missed. Much like the initial airing of "Salem's Lot".

This actually debuted in 1985 on Universals Debut Network...not 1983.

I remember seeing this tv version when it debuted in 1985. It was part of The Universal Television Debut Network. This movie, along with several other Universal Pictures Movies were syndicated to local tv stations. Unfortunately, these movies were heavily and in most cases, horribly re- edited, due to tv standards at the time and also for time. I definitely prefere the original theatrical version of Halloween 2, but I also like watching the tv. Version. I have the Shout Factory DVD Special Edition, which has both versions.

Such a great franchise parts 1-6 Producers cut but wow after that the horrible crappy reboots of h20 and rob zombie and 2018 what a sad shame those films are!

Yes he’s alive, the exaggeration was for the effect. Hell, this movie doesn’t even matter anymore now that the newest one takes a whole new plot.

Hey there - question - I'm going to do a follow up to a Halloween 2018 mashup I did using audio from an NCB promo intercut with 2018 footage. I have the spots from several sources, but you have the cool intro. I know you don't technically own that original, but it is your source footage that you took the time to upload - are you okay with me ripping it to use in my vid? Happy to credit you in the post. This is what I did last time. LMK. Thanks!

I love the Original version of this!! Best and Last Halloween film made! (Except H20 and Halloween 4 the return of Michael Myers) The television version of Halloween II 1981 was just Awful!
