How to fill your travel sketchbook: paint a vintage postcard with gouache

When I was travelling to Andalusia I made a travel sketchbook on site. It’s a great way to keep memories from your trip and really enjoy your vacation. Sometimes, you cannot fill all pages during the trip. You can add more pages when you’re back home, painting from photos or from postcards.

Here I’m painting a vintage postcard from 1966 with gouache in my travel journal.

Great idea. That’s really pretty! Your line drawing is nice as is. I wish my drawings looked good. Trying to make a decent drawing keeps me from ever making it to painting, which I’m better at.
