Roughly one in four couples have difficulty getting pregnant. Despite those numbers, just over 230,000 patients did IVF in 2021, resulting in 0.02% of live births.

On Tuesday, Senate Democrats failed to garner enough votes to move forward with a bill that would have codified protections for IVF. The vote was set up by Democrats after former President Donald Trump announced at a campaign rally that if he wins a second term in office, his administration would make IVF treatment free to all women.

Scripps News' Alex Miller has more on the financial and emotional toll of IVF.

You have to remember they slide other stuff in the bill

I feel bad for people that have trouble having kids, but I'm not sure that it's other Americans job to foot the bill, just a thought but maybe we could stop abortions and allow those families to adopt the saved babies.
